Center Environment
Nestled within the culturally rich Songshan Shaolin Temple Scenic Area, the Shaolin traditional Kungfu Training Center—a distinctive venue integrating Chan meditation, martial arts practice, and leisure—attracts visitors from far and wide with its unique charm.
Located 500 meters east of Shaolin Temple, it stands in close proximity to this millennium ancient monastery and the ancestral home of Chan Buddhism. A short walk leads to this sacred site that carries countless legends of Chan and martial arts. What is even more remarkable is that it backs onto Wuru Peak, where the Dharma Cave lies—the very place where Bodhidharma meditated facing the wall for nine years. Endowed with such a privileged geographical location, the center has been immersed in a strong atmosphere of Chan Buddhism and martial arts spirit since its inception.
As the only venue in the Songshan Shaolin Temple Scenic Area that combines accommodation, dining, and martial arts training, the Shaolin traditional Kungfu Training Center provides a one-stop premium experience for those seeking Chan and martial arts culture. Stepping into the center, one is greeted by the serene scenery of cedar-surrounded grounds and towering ancient cypresses. The lush greenery not only purifies the air but also creates a tranquil atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of the world. At dawn, when the morning bell of Shaolin Temple rings on time, its distant and solemn chime drifts through the woods, gently awakening the sleeping soul; at dusk, the deep echo of the evening drum brings a perfect end to the day. Here, one can resonate with the morning and evening rhythms of the millennium ancient monastery without deliberate pursuit.
Looking into the distance, the majestic outline of Songshan Mountain comes into full view. The mountain, which has undergone billions of years of geological changes, resembles a thick history book, quietly telling the mysteries of Earth’s evolution and the accumulation of time. Being here, on one side is the cultural spectacle of lingering Chan sounds and thriving martial arts traditions, and on the other is the magnificent natural wonder crafted by nature’s ingenious hand. Both body and mind seem to undergo an unprecedented baptism and elevation.
The Shaolin traditional Kungfu Training Center is not just a place for training and rest, but also a bridge connecting tradition and modernity, Chan and martial arts, and humans and nature. It opens an unforgettable Shaolin practice journey for everyone who yearns for it.
