On May 5, 2025,China Songshan Shaolin Temple grandly launched the 14th Water and Land Dharma Function to celebrate the birthday of Sakyamuni, Buddhist flags hanging, the bell ringing and the drum rolling.
The Buddhist ritual originating from Emperor Liangwu of the Northern and Southern Dynasties is one of the grandest rituals in Chinese Buddhism with the longest time during the Han Dynasties, and also the most unique Chinese Buddhist ritual after its introduction to China.
